Car 290

Car 290 was Western Wake's Assistant Chief's vehicle and was placed at Western Wake Station 1.  It was sold to a private individual in November of 2005 after being replaced as part of Wake County's vehicle replacement program.  It was a 1995 Chevrolet 2500 Suburban 4x4 powered by a Chevrolet 7.4 Liter Diesel engine.  Car 290 carried a maximum of 5 people. Car 290 also served as a command vehicle on larger incidents.

Emergency warning devices include: Code 3 light bar, strobe package consisting of dual Whelen signal units in the top rear window, it is also equipped with wig-wag high beams. Audible warning is provided by a Code 3 siren and speaker.
